Garden House

We were privileged to be involved in the build a new home for our return clients and second-time self-builders.

The Victorian terraced garden provided a spectacular backdrop for the 400 sq.m home. Jamie and Rebecca designed and built their first home near Loughborough in 2012, and our clients were keen to employ Ty Cefn for a turn-key design and build package.

Following discussions around the best procurement options with our clients, they opted instead for a local main contractor of high repute to coordinate and project manage the turn-key build; this enabled our clients to draw on the local knowledge and experience of the main contractor who had an established network of suppliers and trusted subcontractors within Cumbria. 

Ty Cefn worked closely at the initial stages of the project to provide value engineering advice, support the main contractor in terms of achieving an energy efficient home using a fabric first approach.

Ty Cefn supplied and erected the large timber frame and steel hybrid structure, sending a team of carpenters to the site in Cumbria. This partnership and collaboration provided the best outcome for our clients, who were able to see the completion of this large-scale residential house within 12 months.
